A Pharmacy Tradition since 1958
Some of our customers may still remember Stu and Dorothy Young, the original owners of Young’s Pharmacy. The couple first opened their doors next to the Old Bank Building on Main Street over 60 years ago. They shared with the community a philosophy of providing superior customer service and good old-fashioned small-town caring.
But the history of Young’s Pharmacy can be traced back much farther. We are a legacy pharmacy in Georgetown and a trusted and dependable fixture here. While our name has changed over the years, records show that we have been passed from family to family since at least 1857 when a pharmacist named Thomas Ruston took over Watson & Ruston, Druggist and Stationers, presumably with his partner Mr. Watson.
About the Owners
Raymond completed his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto in 2006. After gaining experience in a variety of different pharmacy areas, including clinical settings at Hamilton Health Sciences and retail settings, he decided to embark on a career practising independent pharmacy. Alongside his business partner and fellow Faculty of Pharmacy colleague, Peter, they purchased their first independent pharmacy in Dundalk, Ontario in 2009. Their passion and commitment towards local pharmacy has led them to own several pharmacies in Southern Ontario, including Young’s Pharmacy and Homecare. Raymond lives in Brampton with his wife and 3 children who keep him very busy when he’s not in the pharmacy.
Peter graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Pharmacy in 2006. Upon his graduation, Peter took a job in Ottawa with Rexall as a staff pharmacist. In 2007, he relocated back to Toronto and began working as an independent pharmacist throughout Southern Ontario. In 2009, he partnered with his Faculty of Pharmacy colleague, Raymond, and they acquired Dundalk Village Pharmacy in Dundalk, Ontario. Their love and passion for supporting small towns in Ontario has helped them grow and in 2013, they purchased Young’s Pharmacy. Peter lives in Mississauga with his family.
